Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, Avery Sunshine has been a hit everywhere. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang as well as played piano. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. The first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12 track. Since then, it has been remixed and a part of her set. Her voice was also added to the music of The Fighting Temptations. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls which was a stage production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
