Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion of cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. It was impossible to take enough out of the experience. When I graduated at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell took a full year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. When she was in Italy she acquired an appreciation for and understanding of Italian food. This had an enormous impact on how she views food. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. She also is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher she travels across the U.S. to share her love for cooking and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
